I think any period of time that you don’t have insurance is going to make it that much harder to get an insurance company to carry you. I also think that it is illegal to drive without insurance, at least it is in Washington State where I live.

I think it has more to do with your driving record, and the car you drive than the timing.

My son had a wreck first day he bought his car,he was getting insurance that day,the old man was at fault,not my son,they took my son’s driver’s license away for months,he paid all damage to the old man,paid $150 for 1st offense to get the license back,I would suggest asking if u can make a low down payment till your check comes in coz it can really cost ya if something like this happens!
